Mit diesen Worten beschreibt der Schriftsteller Klaus Mann, Sohn von Thomas Mann und Neffe von Heinrich Mann, den expressionistischen Lyriker und Arzt Gottfried Benn 1942 in seiner Autobiografie „Der Wendepunkt“ (vgl. Decker, 2006, S. 230). Trotz dieser lobenden Worte gibt es etwa neun Jahre zuvor eine Auseinandersetzung in schriftlicher shape zwischen Gottfried Benn und Klaus Mann aufgrund Benns politischer Position.

Aus diesem Grund erläutere ich zunächst die drei grundlegenden Theorien, die das Fundament für diese Forschungsrichtung gelegt haben. Die Nachrichtenwerttheorie, eines dieser drei Fundamente, wird ausführlich in ihrer Entstehung und Weiterentwicklung beschrieben. Im praktischen Teil wird dann eine Nachrichtenanalyse durchgeführt.
